The central government, during the ongoing monsoon session of the Lok Sabha, accepted that it is yet to release Goods and Services Tax (GST) compensation amounting to Rs 3,752 crore to the cash-strapped Punjab government for the last financial year and Rs 3,124 crore for April-May this year.Similarly, Haryana is yet to get Rs 2,328 crore for the last financial year and Rs 2,130 crore for the April and May of this fiscal. The central government also owes Rs 680 crore to the hill state of Himachal Pradesh for the last financial year and Rs 714 crore for the first two months of this fiscal.
